Field notes and photographs combine with digital illustrations and linocuts to make up these captivating zines, taking the reader into the material, textured world of what it means to live from and within the forests of Peninsular Malaysia.
The GERIMIS Art Project is a collaborative art project and archiving initiative that explores Orang Asli (indigenous) narratives from the Malaysian Peninsula. Here we show excerpts from two of their recently published paper zines; ‘Solastalgia’ and ‘Mad Weave’, which the creative team at GERIMIS Art Project researched and developed in collaboration with leaders and key members of the indigenous communities in which they worked.
