Rosine Nsimire and Alessandro Musetta
DRC
Rosine and Alessandro met in Goma, provincial capital of the North Kivu, where Alessandro was engaged in activities of scientific communication and creative reporting about environmental degradation in the eastern forest sectors of the Congo Basin. Rosine, a cultural leader, women's reproductive rights activist, ecofeminist from the lake region, and executive directress of ALLIANCE pour la VIE Asbl, introduced him to fisherwomen's coops. Together, they made the decision to enter into a cooperative agreement.
Rosine & Alessandro’s project is ‘Agathe, the matriarch above the water’.

Akwa Felicity Asibi
NIGERIA
Akwa Felicity Asibi (aka Asiibii) is a creative writer and spoken-word artist from Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. She has a formidable track record as a climate actor, and has raised funding for a Social Justice Advocacy Spoken Word Album titled “We are all Poets”. The album seeks to empower especially girls and women to take up responsibilities across several sectors. Asiibii currently volunteers with Jos Green Centre and Punchline Poetry Society: she is passionate about combating negative social norms, increasing women’s political participation, and achieving climate justice.
Asiibii’s project is ‘Earthward’.

Sofiya Shukhova
INDONESIA
Sofiya Shukhova is an artivist and conservationist. Through her work, she aims to bring public attention to less-known environmental, conservation and animal welfare issues. She holds a Master's degree in Conservation and International Wildlife Trade. She has held multiple roles in conservation organisations such as at Animal Concerns Research and Education Society, the IUCN SSC Asian Songbird Trade Specialist Group, etc working on projects that address wildlife issues through communications, community engagement, policy and art.
Sofiya’s project is ‘When the last shark will be caught’.

Ishaan Patil & Sicily Fiennes
UK
Ishaan is currently working in Scotland as a research assistant in the Social, Economic and Geographical sciences department at the James Hutton Institute and has a particular interest in the incorporation of multimedia art in academia and making research accessible. Sicily is currently a PhD student at the University of Leeds, on the Leverhulme Extinction Studies DTP. They have been working in the field of wildlife trade research since 2017, and have since published work on bird trade in China.
Ishaan & Sicily’s project is ‘Wildlife trade markets: an audio-visual exploration’.

Mavin Kibicho

Director and writer Mavin Kibicho introduces "Son of Man Theatre," where passion meets purpose on the stage and the power of theatre becomes a catalyst for positive change. Comprised of a vibrant ensemble of young men and ladies in the heart of Kenya's capital Nairobi, this troupe is more than performers – they are storytellers driven by a profound commitment to societal impact. Through their compelling narratives, Son of Man Theatre seeks not only to entertain but also to inspire, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of their audience.
Mavin’s project is ‘I know why the Caged Lion sings!’.

Natalia Jidovanu
KENYA
Natalia Jidovanu is an Independent Moldovan-Portuguese Multimedia Journalist and Visual Consultant based in Nairobi, Kenya. Working in the East African region since 2014, she has documented gender, forced displacement and social inequality issues. An avid defender of participatory methods to foster dialogue and change, Natalia is also an experienced Participatory Photography Consultant, having designed and managed participatory projects with diverse groups in Kenya and Somalia. She is a member of The International Press Association of East Africa, Women Photograph and Frontline Freelance Register.
Natalia’s project is ‘For Future Generations: Guardians of Wilderness’.

Evans Okumu
KENYA
Since childhood Evans has been fascinated by animals and their connection to nature. Holding a degree in social science from Maasai Mara University he is passionate about serving humanity and taking good care of biodiversity. Guided by the famous quote of our hero Nelson Mandela that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world, Evans has collaborated with TPP, a global grant making organization and other partners to distribute bicycles to vulnerable girls. Evans is now a grant advisor in the Animal Rights and Welfare docket.
Evans’ project is ‘You are not SAFE until I am SAFE…’

Ally Zlatar
UK
Ally Zlatar is an artist, scholar, activist, climate advocate and founder of The Starving Artist where she harnesses creative voices for advocacy and systemic reform. Currently pursuing a Doctorate of Creative Arts with a focus on eating disorders in contemporary art at the University of Southern Queensland Ally’s artistic journey converges with climate activism, sparked by personal experiences with chronic illness and a profound realization of pharmaceutical waste's environmental impact. Ally's work underscores the transformative power of art in raising awareness about environmental issues and shaping a sustainable future.
Ally’s project is ‘Voices Above Water’.

Vanessa Haines-Matos
GERMANY
Many years prior to my current doctoral studies, I had originally trained as a professional classical dancer whilst having always felt an affinity for the fine arts - especially drawing and painting. In a voluntary capacity, I later became involved in climate and ecology activism and in 2020, was one of the original members who founded the UK Climate and Ecology Private Member’s Bill ‘Zero Hour’ campaign. This invaluable experience with Zero Hour inspired me to conceive the idea of a Climate-Ecology Emergency Blueprint and, along with an anthropologist, the creation of the Climate-Nature Blueprint Hub.
Vanessa’s project is ‘The Art of Deliberation: The Climate-Nature Emergency Hub for the Climate-Ecology Blueprint’.

Arijit Chatterjee
INDIA
Arijit Chatterjee is a faculty of Environmental Science in Asutsoh College, University of Calcutta, India and has PhD in ‘Wildlife conservation in villages of West Bengal’. An avid researcher Arijit has worked professionally for 15 years in the fields of ecology, wildlife, conservation and evolution. He was also a student of the Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata) and along with teaching he is currently exploring his artistry skills.

Natalie Limwatana
THAILAND
Natalie Limwatana is deeply influenced by nature, people and her surroundings. She is fascinated by the beauty and diversity of life on this planet and draws inspiration from the patterns of life, growth, decay and transformation. The thread that runs through all her work is a reflection of the world we live in now, and the awareness that we humans are both the source of many problems, as well as the solution.

Alexandra Paredes
PHILIPPINES
I'm Alexandra, an artist and graphic designer based in Manila. I illustrate storybooks and the news, design books and zines, and develop brand identities. I respond to the principle that good design is for everyone, and so I've ended up working with clients in government, media, nonprofits, and small businesses. I graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts with a BFA in Visual Communication, cum laude, in 2011.

Ammi Leong
MALAYSIA
Born and raised in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Ammi is an artist, illustrator and art teacher, founder of Ammi Art Studio. She holds three different Diplomas: in Teachers and Trainers, Fine Art and Technology-Building. Art has taught her to appreciate the beauty of creation, nature and diversity of cultures. She likes watercolour and enjoys using images to tell stories.

Chooi-Ling Keiong

My name is Chooi-Ling Keiong. I graduated from the Kuala Lumpur College of Art (KLCA) Fine Art Department in 2002. Now, I'm working as a conveyancing clerk in a local boutique law firm. I continue to draw/paint after work. Art is one of my languages for expression, it helps me to process my thoughts and feelings and interpret them. I will not stop doing art. Joséphine Billeter
LAOS
As a primary school teacher in Switzerland Joséphine discovered her passion for graphic design and illustration when she began working part time in the communication sector. After self-study and several long travels she moved to Luang Prabang, Laos where she freelances as a graphic designer/illustrator. Joséphine aims to support NGOs and social businesses that work towards the protection of the environment.

Mae Aguinaldo
PHILIPPINES
Mae Aguinaldo is an artist based in Manila, Philippines. She has produced several community art projects in Southeast Asian cities, and these projects have strengthened the collaborative and cooperative aspect of her art-making. Her background in fashion, economics, and population studies inform her art practice. Her ‘Threatened Species’ project is an offshoot of an earlier project, ‘A Pimple that Became a Mole’.

Anna Luy Tan
USA/TAIWAN
Anna Luy Tan is a documentary filmmaker and writer from Chicago. As a student of both the sciences and the humanities with a lifelong passion for coral reef ecosystems, she has always been intensely invested in sharing her love of this unique living environment with the world and believes that it can be uniquely communicated through the medium of film. To her, Taiwan's coral reefs demonstrate the creative power of nature itself.

Michelle Lai
SINGAPORE
Michelle Lai Jingmin is a Eindhoven based ecological designer and artist. She studied as a political scientist and has a degree in Political Science, and Public Policy Management. Since 2016, Lai has been working as a creative freelancer, researcher and ecological practitioner with a strong interest in the natural world and their interconnections.

Priya Thuvassery

Priya Thuvassery is an independent documentary filmmaker and television producer based in New Delhi. Priya’s body of work has focused on women and gender, her stories provide windows into the myriad experiences of the body, the environment, the community, mapped from a gender and feminist perspective.

Nola Andaya
PHILIPPINES
Emmanuelle or Nola is an artist inspired by the traditional crafts of the indigenous communities in Southeast Asia, with whom she has been working for the past 20 years on sustainable livelihoods and forest management. Through art, Nola wants to draw attention to this field that is always in the sidelines of the world’s consciousness. She wants the beauty of rich cultures and biodiversity to become more present to more people.

Rollyna Domingo & Mac Arboleda
PHILIPPINES
Rollyna Marie Domingo is a wildlife biologist studying the distribution and behaviour of binturongs. Mac Andre Arboleda is an artist, curator, and writer exploring the sickness of the Internet through research and dialogue, art and text, and organizing and publishing. Both graduates of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, they are now in collaboration using camera-trapping as a starting point for discussions on surveillance in more-than-human worlds.

Koh Jieh Long
MALAYSIA
Koh is a human and Koh exists at this point in time. Koh, like other humans, is confused about their place on earth and Koh does not know what is the best way to live, with self, and together with all living things. But here we are, what do we do? We find meaning in art, and in discoveries; conversations with other similarly confused humans, and connections with other forms of lives.

Syuhada Sapno
MALAYSIA
Syuhada, or Syu, is an artist, embroiderer, wacky storyteller, memester, and has an odd obsession for frogs. She is also a trained ecologist with a focus in ethology and herpetology. Syu tries to incorporate her exciting adventures and love towards nature in arts. Syu enjoys stitching, directing plays and screenwriting and has successfully contributed her multidisciplinary expertise in merging science and art “#SciArt” with several environmental conservation organisations.

BIOLOGEEK
INDIA
Akmal and Iqbal are the creators of Biologeek, an illustration-based project about biology. Biologeek, which began in 2015, is creating fun and simple ways to learn about biodiversity through comics and illustration. With the aim of popularising science, especially for young people in Indonesia (and all over the world), and raising awareness for biodiversity and conservation Biologeek’s content is shared through social media platforms.

Jasvic Lye

Jasvic Lye has always been intrigued with the natural world and has been documenting her experiences through visuals and collected objects ever since she was a child. As an artist, she always believes that art speaks when words cannot. Javsic is particularly drawn to exploring the relationship between man and nature, especially in her home country of Singapore - a highly urbanised city-state that is in a constant pursuit to green its environment while developing what little land there is left.

Kenneth Chin
SINGAPORE
Kenneth Chin has had an immense love for wildlife since he was a kid. Having worked as a freelance illustrator for about 4 years he has contributed to guidebooks, websites, science publications and created his own merchandise. Kenneth hopes to elevate his abilities to work with big organisations to help spearhead conservation efforts through art and design. As an avid photographer, he continues to hone his skills and techniques to produce the best images for undescribed or rare animals.

Syarifah Nadhirah
MALAYSIA
Syarifah Nadhirah, otherwise know as Dee Alyahya, is an artist and illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur, whose project “Mapping Indigeneity through Memory of Tastes” explores indigenous women’s knowledge of nature, land and plants on the Malaysian Peninsula. In her words the project “attempts to articulate why traditional indigenous knowledge matters and why the voices of the people and the forests need to be amplified.”

GERIMIS Art Project

GERIMIS Art Project is a collaborative artistic and archiving initiative that co-creates cultural content with Orang Asli artisans, contemporary artists, and communities in Malaysia. Through a collaborative series of artworks, photography works, zines, installations, workshops, and exhibitions the project aims to further empower and facilitate the autonomy of Orang Asli discourse.

Koi Sakunee
THAILAND
Koi Sakunee is a graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture at Chiang Mai University, Thailand holding a Master degree in Man and Environment Management. In her career as a writer and editor she recognised her enduring love of artwork. Therefore, she went to study pottery in the north of India and took a short illustration course in a small town in northern Italy.
